When to Use Market Cap Requirement Calculator

Exchange Listing Planning

Binance wants $50M+ market cap. You're at $15M. This calculator shows you need a 3.3x price increase to hit that threshold. Plan your marketing and catalysts accordingly.

FDV Analysis

Token looks cheap at $50M market cap, but FDV is $500M with 90% of tokens locked. That's a 10x dilution risk. This calculator flags these red flags before you invest.

Fund Eligibility Check

Institutional funds have minimum market cap requirements. Grayscale-style products need $1B+. Smaller crypto funds need $50M+. Check if your token qualifies for institutional money.

CMC/CG Ranking Goals

Want to break into CMC top 100? You need roughly $500M+ market cap. Top 500 needs $20M+. Calculate what price your token needs to hit these visibility milestones.

Tokenomics Validation

Launching a token? Check if your planned supply and target price creates a reasonable market cap. A $0.01 token with 100B supply = $1B FDV. Is that realistic for your project?

Investment Comparison

Comparing two tokens? One has $10M MC with 50% circulating, another has $20M MC with 10% circulating. The first has $20M FDV, the second has $200M FDV. Very different risk profiles.

Frequently Asked Questions

Market cap vs FDV difference?

Market cap = Price × Circulating Supply (what's tradeable now). FDV = Price × Total Supply (all tokens ever). High FDV/MC ratio means significant future dilution from token unlocks.

Binance market cap requirement?

No official minimum, but typically $50M-$500M+ at listing. More important: $5M+ daily volume, strong community, VC backing, unique tech. Small caps occasionally list with exceptional traction.

CMC listing requirements?

Active trading on tracked exchange, working explorer, functional website, accurate supply data. No strict market cap minimum, but need sufficient liquidity. Most listed have $100K+ MC, $10K+ daily volume.

Institutional fund requirements?

Crypto hedge funds: $50M-$500M minimum. Large funds (Grayscale-style): $1B+. Index funds: top 10-100 by MC. VCs invest pre-MC but target $100M+ FDV potential.

Calculate price for target MC?

Target Price = Target MC ÷ Circulating Supply. Example: $100M target with 50M tokens = $2.00 needed. For FDV targets, use total supply instead.

Healthy FDV/MC ratio?

Under 2x: healthy. 2-5x: moderate. 5-10x: concerning. Over 10x: high risk. Check vesting schedules—4-year linear vest is different from cliff unlocks next month.
